Telford never really had proper, home-grown Jiu Jitsu. No real grappling scene. Just franchises, travelling coaches, and people getting out of town coaches who never remembered there name . I was talking with a good friend about how badly our area needed something real. Something organic, built by people who actually care.

That friend was Jay, the head coach at BMMA. He felt the same,  and he wanted something bigger and better too. Jay understood the grind of chasing perfection, Despite being a black belt, he keeps a white belt mindset — always learning, always evolving, always pushing for something new. So we put our heads together, and decided to build something serious for our community: a true MMA home with experienced coaches, and no corporate nonsense.

I started with the BJJ side, and Jay gracefully helped by giving us a roof over our heads when things were tight. It was a tough grind in the beginning.

Brick by brick, shoulder to shoulder, we built it up. The people of Telford showed up, supported it, and helped it grow into what it is now — a proper gym for proper training.
